The Greentech Fund represents a collaborative green initiative between Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation and Ficus Capital.
The funds core mission is to direct investments into green technology projects and companies across Southeast Asia, primarily focus in Malaysia. This effort aligned with Malaysia's aspiration of attaining net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 while fostering green industry growth across Southeast Asia.
Expansion Capital for Growth
Companies including those with validated greenfield projects and brownfield companies, need additional funding to reach the next level of development. As for greenfield companies, their projects must have undergone rigorous testing and feasibility studies, incubation, and have a proven concept in the green sector.
Investments are not limited to startups. Established companies, both greenfield and brownfield, in turnaround situations are considered. These firms may have distressed capital, and there is potential to be strategic investors, helping them revitalise their operations and achieve profitability.
Allowing for taking a senior or preferred position in the capital structure of the investee entities. Whether it's supporting a validated greenfield venture with a strong business plan or bolstering a brownfield project with strategic improvements.
